Rajasthan, the largest (area-wise) state in India, is in the north-western part of the subcontinent. It borders six major states in the northern, western, and central parts of India. Rajasthan is a natural corridor between the wealthy northern and the prosperous western states, making it an important trade and commerce center.The natural resources, policy incentives, strategic location, and infrastructure in the state are favorably suited for investments in sectors such as cement, tourism, agriculture, and allied industries, mineral and mineral processing industries.

The state has an agricultural economy with nine agro-climatic zones and various types of soil that help during the cultivation of crops. The state is the leading producer of cement grade limestone in India.

Rajasthan has the following marketing infrastructure in the state:

  • Agri-Export Zones: A total of 2 Agri Export Zones, with a focus on spices, have been identified by the State Government, five districts for coriander (Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, Bundi, and Chittorgarh) and five for cumin (Barmer, Jalore, Jodhpur, Nagaur, and Pali)
  • 141 main market yards and 315 submarket yards, 4 big pack houses, 5 small packhouses, and 7 cold storages are in operation and one walk-in cooling chamber at JaipurAirport.
  • Kisan Bhawan (Farmer's Facilitation House) at 7 divisional headquarters and all district headquarters. These are operational as lodging facilities for farmers to stay while coming to the market.
  • Mustard Research Centre, Bharatpur
  • 8 AGMARK (a certification mark embossed on agricultural products in India) laboratories for grading of the produce
  • Food Processing Units: About 10,000 units are operational in the micro and small scale sector and approximately 75 units in the medium and large-scale sector

Famous Ethnic Foods of Rajasthan:

  • Ker Sangri: Dried blackberries and twiggy beans soaked in mustard oil with whole red chilies and tart raw mango
  • Raab: A thick broth made from millet (bajra) flour and buttermilk, which is heated and fermented
  • Ghevar: A special sweet dessert from Jaipur that is essentially a dish made from flour, soaked in ghee (clarified butter), milk &topped with sliced almonds

It is a vertically integrated copper producing company, with facilities of mining, beneficiation, smelting, refining, and casting of refined copper metal into downstream saleable products. HCL has four operating units of mines and plants, one of which is the Khetri Copper Complex (KCC) at Khetrinagar in Rajasthan
